As a nonprofit executive, Barfonce has built high-performing teams and cultures that bring about continuous improvement for staff, contractors, and volunteers within an equity framework. As an Executive Director, Barfonce provided leadership for all operational and programmatic aspects of a complex scattered site nonprofit in Washington, DC working with homeless women and children.Â
As an organizational leader and Director of Development, Barfonce oversaw and achieved an organization's $28m per year fundraising goal. Further, she exceeded targeted goals for major gifts over an 18-month period. Supporting CEOs in their fundraising has been a key element of Barfonce’s work through robust support, accompaniment, and sound strategy.Â
Barfonce has worked with multiple human service organizations including Tahirih Justice Center, Disabled Veterans National Foundation, Capitol Hill Group Ministry, and Central Union Mission. She is a human assets mentor producing results through lean management philosophy in ever-changing programmatic and philanthropic environments.
